1 The SMARTHEX™ TC head design integrates a hexagonal wrenching surface with a large washer-sized bearing surface equal to that of a hardened flat washer. This design provides an alternate means for installation or removal, should it be required. No more torches to burn out rollers or thread-damaged bolts.

Enhanced installation accessibility. If tight or inadequate clearances prevent the use of the electric installation tool, simply hold the wrenching surface and tighten the nut using the turn-of-nut procedure.

Eliminate rollers. If nicked or damaged threads cause the bolt to roll, preventing normal nut attachment, simply hold the wrenching surface and tighten the nut.

Easy disassembly. Should removal be required, just hold the built-in wrenching surface and loosen the nut.

More efficient testing. Wrenching surface simplifies removal from test equipment.

2 LOT ID CODE FOR TOTAL TRACEABILITY
The only TC bolt with a traceable Lot ID stamped directly into every head. (See TRACEABILITY page for details.)

3 ASTM SPECIFICATIONS
All Lohr fasteners meet or exceed all ASTM and AISC Specifications.

4 HIGH INSTALLED TENSION
Our TC bolts are designed to shear well above minimum AISC tension requirements, compensating for real-world variations in delivered steel (warpage, misalignment, burrs, etc.).

5 NUT LUBRICATION
Industry testing has proven that nut lubrication is critical in controlling tension. We treat our nuts with a state-of-the-art lubricant. It increases tension, reduces torque and provides corrosion protection to counter the effects of weathering.
